LIVING IN SHIBUYA: A LIFE INSIDE THE CITY
A documentary-style urban essay blending fieldwork, photography, and personal narrative to trace ten years of life in Shibuya. Living in Shibuya during a once-in-a-century redevelopment, this project examines the city’s rapid transformation through the lens of everyday life. By walking its streets over a decade and observing the shifts in architecture, commerce, and community, the work explores how gentrification unfolds in Tokyo—and how it parallels, diverges from, and subtly echoes the changes seen in New York.
